This does have many new meanings in modern culture though.
The only reason it has “meanings” in modern culture is because a bunch of ignorant people thought that it looks cool and decided that because Christians appreciate the cross that when you turn it upside down it reverses the meaning behind it.
i’m so glad some people actually understand what this means.
It may be ignorant to take a symbol and apply a new meaning to it, but think about the Swastika. The Nazi’s took something that originally stood for luck and overall well-being for some religions and turned it into something that is most often recognized as a symbol of hate in modern times.
and that symbol that may be a big part of someone’s lifestyle or beliefs will always be seen as a horrible thing. the Nazi’s ruined that symbol for millions of people.
